The Fall athletic season begins in mid-August with summer practices and ends in early November, depending on how far the teams advance in the playoff games. Students are welcome to join the a team after school begins, but must realize that larger sports make roster cuts. Joining in the summer ensures prospective athletes a timely tryout period. Summer training is also valuable for both physical conditioning and team building.
Athletics is a wonderful complement to the academic focus at Heights High. Athletes often say that participating on a team helps them organize their time to include both studying and athletic training.
