CH-UH School Board is leading students to success

December 22, 2010
Cleveland Heights, OH

January 2011 is School Board Recognition Month. The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is using this as an opportunity to celebrate the countless contributions of our dedicated community leaders.

“Our School Board members work tirelessly and devote hundreds of hours to lead our students to success. Setting aside time in January is one small way to celebrate their service to our community and say thanks for caring so much about the future of every child enrolled in our schools,” Superintendent Douglas Heuer said.

The community is invited to a special half hour reception before the January 4, 2011, Board meeting to honor them.  From 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., punch and cookies will be provided while a group of 11 Heights High String players (4 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 2 basses, 1 harp) will provide a beautiful sounding backdrop to the evening, under the direction of the Instrumental Music Director, Daniel Heim.

“We truly appreciate every Board member for voluntarily tackling the enormous job of governing our local school districts,” Heuer said.  “We encourage the community to attend the reception and stay for the Board meeting afterwards to get a better understanding of what they do for our students and community on a daily basis; they are always forced to make tough decisions.”
