CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH -
One of CH-UH School District’s goals is to provide a first class education to its students with the resources students need to be prepared for the future. Part of achieving that goal is providing students and parents with the technology to communicate with educators and stay informed and involved in the classroom. Infinite Campus is a District-wide tool that will offer new opportunities for educators, parents, and students.
Infinite Campus is the official grade book for the District for grades 6-12. Until now, the tool has only been used internally; it is now open to students and parents. The parent portal for grades 3-5 will open in the fall of 2010.
As of January 28, parents with students in grades 6-12 have had access to the Infinite Campus program through a portal designed for their needs. The Campus Portal provides access for parents and students to their Campus information as it is being entered by teachers, counselors, and staff. The Campus Portal encourages active participation by parents in their student’s progress while simplifying the distribution of external communications.
“Parents are now able to access report cards, posted tests, grades, assignments, and attendance,” Interim Assistant Superintendent Joseph Micheller said. “Students also have the ability to monitor their assignments, grades, and progress. It’s a powerful tool for them to stay connected with their learning.” This information will be password protected and parents will only be able to track their child’s progress.
The new student information system, Infinite Campus, will help make communications more efficient, provide more reliable data and better access to student data for staff, students, and parents to more effectively monitor student performance. “This first year with Infinite Campus is both rewarding and challenging; we are asking parents to have reasonable expectations and patience as we become familiar with its major features,” Interim Assistant Superintendent Joseph Micheller said. Infinite Campus is another critical component of the District’s plan to redesign the teaching and learning environment to ensure our students are college ready and 21st Century life prepared.
