Canterbury Art Student is Finalist in National Competition
February 2, 2010 CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH -
Sophie Fleischer, a second grader at Canterbury Elementary, has recently won a spot as a finalist in a national package design competition sponsored by Marzetti Old Fashioned Caramel Apple-Dip. Her design was one of three chosen in the 0-8 year old category. There were over 1500 designs entered nationwide.
If Sophie wins, Canterbury Elementary will receive 10 Wacom Bamboo Tablets (for drawing on computers), a wonderful asset to the art program at Canterbury. The winner will be determined by the number of votes registered at Marzetti’s sweepstakes web site, www.udipsweepstakes.com. It will take a few minutes of your time to register and vote. There are 11 other finalists, some with entries extremely advanced. Her package design is shown here so you know which one to vote for. Please look at it carefully and make sure you vote for the right one; the package designs are not labeled. Voting ends February 15.
Sophie’s art teacher, Ida Bergson, encouraged her to enter the contest.
Channel 5 featured Sophie on the 5 p.m. News on Monday, February 1.
