CLEVELAND HEIGHTS , OH –
The students of Coventry Elementary are saying goodbye to the school year with “Follow the Coventry Road,” a musical production exploring the history and celebrating the memories from their elementary school. Coventry Elementary will close at the end of the current school year.
Inspired by The Wizard of Oz and The Wiz, students will look at memories of current and former students who went to Coventry Elementary as well as the distinguished history of the school. Students worked with music teacher Ms. Grant-Hughes to learn the music for the production, and they also worked with art teachers, Ms. Connelly & Ms. Wachhaus, to create the sets and costumes. Kulture Kids, Northeast Ohio's leading provider of multicultural arts programs for schools and businesses, wrote, directed, and produced the play and is working with children in all grades to rehearse their parts.
The five lead roles will be played by Coventry Elementary students Emma Bartz, Natalia Lenington, Chantrail Carter, Christian Boone, and Kyle Washington.
The production is sponsored by the Coventry PTA, Reaching Heights, and the CH-UH Board of Education.
