Scott Gainer, Chief Financial Officer for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, and his finance team have been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA), for its comprehensive financial report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
Gainer earned the award for the district’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the 2013-14 fiscal year. This year marked the 12th consecutive time Gainer has received the award.
The GFOA Certificate of Achievement recognizes the thorough and detailed presentation of a district’s financial condition, activities, and balances for the fiscal year.
Of the award, Gainer stated, “On behalf of the District, my staff and I are pleased to have earned this award again. “It demonstrates our commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting. We take our fiduciary responsibility for taxpayer dollars very seriously and view this additional financial reporting as a way to keep our community informed.”
An accomplished professional, Scott Gainer was named Outstanding Treasurer/CFO of the Year for 2010 by the State of Ohio.
