International Exchange Students Visit Schools

Nov. 17, 2016 -- The AFS International Exchange Students from Heights High School visited Roxboro Middle School and Roxboro Elementary School on November 11, where they met students and staff.

The international students offered an overview of their culture. The Roxboro students asked the AFS students about their experience here in the U.S. and what everyday life is like in their home countries.

In what IB Coordinator Melissa Garcar described as an adorble, touching moment, Palesintian student Hamzeh and his host brother, Fergus, hugged as soon as they saw each other during the Rox El visit.

Cleveland Heights High School has participated in the AFS International Exchange for 59 years.

An AFS Information Night for parents was also held on November 16 at Heights High. If you'd like to learn more about becoming a host family, study-abroad programs for your child, and more, email Carla Bailey, AFS Sponsored Programs Coordinator, at [email protected].
