June 13, 2016 – The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District will operate on a modified summer hour schedule beginning June 20 through August 5.
District buildings will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Most District buildings will be closed on Friday.
Heights High School (Wiley campus) and Gearity Professional Development School will be open on Fridays and running on normal hours to accommodate summer school courses and the early childhood center.
With the modified schedule, CH-UH staff members will be working the same amount of hours during the summer but with longer days spread over four days rather than five.
Closing District buildings on Fridays this summer will represent an approximate cost savings on utilities of over $20,000.
The District will resume normal hours on Monday, August 8. Schools will re-open for students on August 22.
