District Holds Professional Development Day

Professional Development Day

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District held its first Professional Development Day of the 2015-16 school year on Friday, Sept. 18.

Of the 981 total employees in the District, 865 participated (88 percent).

The goal of the Professional Development Day is to provide a variety of specialized training, formal education, or learning communities intended to benefit administrators, teachers, and other educators to expand their professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness.

The professional development consisted of opportunities for staff in the areas of building-level action planning (administrators and teachers), AVID training, Big Ideas Math, Career Technical Education, Guidance Counselors, Gifted Teacher collaboration, Music, Illuminate Education, K-1 Super Kids curriculum, English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum, Special Education collaboration, nurses, psychologists, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, and security training.
