Heights Alum Nominated for Stellar Gospel Music Awards

Geoffrey Golden

Feb. 5, 2016 -- Geoffrey Golden, a 2012 graduate of Heights High School, has been nominated for New Artist of the Year in the 31st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

The Stellar Awards is the first and oldest music awards show honoring gospel music artists, writers and industry professionals. In the year since winning the BET Sunday Best gospel competition, Geoffrey has been traveling extensively and has shared the stage with many of gospel’s notable greats.

Geoffrey’s debut project, Kingdom! Live, produced by Kirk Franklin, was released in August 2015. This project made him eligible to be considered as a nominee for the Stellar Awards.

Geoffrey appeared on BET’s Celebration of Gospel alongside The First Lady of Gospel, Pastor Shirley Caesar, in a tribute to the late Andrae Crouch on January 31. If you have not had a chance to hear Geoffrey lately, the Stellar Award nominee will be in concert on February 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church, 1161 E. 105th (Rev. E.T Caviness, Pastor). The concert is free.

The Stellar Awards will be announced on February 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air on TV later this spring.
