LEL Coach of the Year
Heights High Girls Basketball Coach Karen Battle was named the Lake Erie League Coach of the Year. "I am honored to receive this award from my peers,” said Coach Battle. "I appreciate that they see the growth in our program and the hard work and dedication of our girls." The girls team finished second in the league this year with a 13-9 record. Five of her starters were underclassmen and Coach Battle is looking forward to next year with a strong group of younger players who are eager to improve their game and build on the winning ways of this year.
“I enjoy helping the girls learn life lessons through the game of basketball,” she said. “So many of the skills and attitudes that we learn on the court transfer to school and life.”
