Heights High Design Renderings on Display at CHHS May 4

The community got to see the latest design renderings of the new Heights High during the tenured teachers reception in the high school social room right before the board meeting on Monday, May 4. Design Team members were available to answer questions and get more community feedback. The Heights High brass quintet provided entertainment.

This most recent showing is one of the many times the community has had the chance to see the design renderings. On April 21, the Design Team presented the renderings to the Board and community at the Facilities Board Work Session.

At that session, the Design Team shared a PowerPoint Presentation of the following:

  • Exterior renderings of the building and floor plans (click here to view/see below)
  • Floor plans in their final form and
  • Discussed the new building’s sustainability efforts toward the current LEED scorecard. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green (environmentally friendly) buildings.

The current high school at Cedar and Lee will be renovated beginning summer 2015. Students will attend the Wiley Campus/Temporary Heights High from 2015-2017 school years. A new Heights High is scheduled to open for the 2017-18 school year at Cedar and Lee.

The Board is expected to approve the Design Development Phase at the May 19 work session at the Board of Education at 7 p.m.
