The Cleveland Heights – University Heights Schools strive to promote mathematical literacy with your children from August to May. We wish for our students to enter the 17-18 school year in August with a solid foundation of math skills appropriate for the students’ grade level. As partners in the education program of our youth, we invite you to help your child extend his/her mathematics skills this summer. Below are a list of opportunities available for students to continue to develop their math skills over the summer.
The “summer math practice” for students entering grades 1-5:
-Use the summer calendar (download PDFs below by grade level)
The “summer math practice” for any student entering grades 6-12:
-Use Study Island to work on “My NWEA MAP Learning Path” or you can click on your grade level on the left side of the screen to select additional Math practice. Login at https://app.studyisland.com/cfw/login/ with your district username and password.
-Alternative option for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade who have access to Reflex Math: Login at www.reflexmath.com with the information you used during the school year. Entering 6th grade students need to login with this information:
- Teacher username for Monticello Middle students: montimath
- Teacher username for Roxboro Middle students: chuhmath
- Class: Select the class designated for the first letter of your last name
- Password: Use your district password
Students are asked to return their June-August calendars to their new teachers by Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Students who return their signed summer mathematics calendar will be recognized in each school building. Sixth grade teachers will track fifth grade students’ usage online. Sixth graders will be recognized at the middle school.
Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support in helping our students reach their full potential in math!
