CH-UH Message About Solar Eclipse Viewing

2017 Eclipse

Aug. 18, 2017 -- On Monday, August 21, a total solar eclipse will take place. It is very important that students, staff and parents understand how to safely experience the eclipse and make sure that students take safety measures while viewing this historic event.

While the eclipse is a very exciting event, you should never look directly at the sun at any time. Failure to follow these safety precautions can result in permanent eye damage! The only way to safely look at the sun during an eclipse is by using approved eclipse glasses or by viewing the eclipse indirectly.
