Here are the latest updates from Roxboro Elementary School.
Gas Line
Thank you for your cooperation last week and modifying the pick up routine on Wednesday. The gas line work is complete and we are hoping to have the concrete poured over the weekend in the next two weeks. I will keep you informed if we have to modify due to the concrete being poured. The latest communication indicated they were pouring it on a weekend.
PTA Reminders
The PTA will hold its first General Meeting of the year this Wednesday at 6 pm. in the auditorium. A light dinner will be provided. You will get updates from me about the start of the school year and learn about the playground updates and the PTA's plans for the year. In addition you will hear more about the District's new elementary gifted service, the P.E.T.S. program, from coordinator, Lisa Husain. We hope to see you there!
Open House
As you know, we held our annual Open House/ Curriculum Night last Tuesday night. We appreciate the families who came to hear the presentations. If you weren’t able to attend because of conflicts, please let us know and we will be glad to provide you with the information.
Students Showing Leadership
We are proud of the efforts of Liam Hodges, a fifth grader, who collected money for hurricane Harvey during Open House and was able to donate $45.00 to the Houston Humane Society. We also had a table to explain our school’s recycling efforts. Leo Fasolo, a 3rd grade student, was able to explain these efforts and pass out brochures to families. We are proud of both these students who are exhibiting several of the IB attitudes and attributes including communicator, risk-taker, and knowledgeable in a positive way.
IB Action Board
Ms. Garcar is looking for pictures of your family participating in outside events. If you have any that you would like to share with us, please send them in so we can place them on the bulletin board in the front hallway.
