CH-UH Accepting Applications For Advocacy Committee, Early Childhood Task Force

CH-UH City School DistrictNov. 2, 2018 -- The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is accepting applications for its new School Advocacy Committee and Early Childhood Task Force.

The district is committed to engaging with the community and tapping into the collective expertise of its stakeholders by offering two more opportunities for community members to get involved. The district has already formed a new Family Engagement Task Force and also recently accepted applications for a Lay Finance Committee.

The mission of the School Advocacy Committee is to educate the CH-UH community about the issues facing the district with regard to state funding systems and educational legislation and policy. The committee will also explore opportunities to advocate for CH-UH students and taxpayers at local, state, and federal levels.

The Early Childhood Task Force will explore the services needed to support preschool students within the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District and to purposefully connect preschool education and the Early Childhood Special Education program. The task force will meet monthly and submit a report to the Board of Education in the spring of 2019.

Membership on each committee is voluntary and limited to residents of the CH-UH City School District. Completed applications should be emailed to Caroline Jewell-Rogers at [email protected]. The application deadline is Friday, Nov. 16.
