All About Homecoming - October 12-13

Oct. 1, 2018 -- The weekend of October 12-13 is the Heights Community Homecoming Celebration. Families, alumni and community members are invited to celebrate Tiger Nation and connect with friends old and new.

Student Council spearheads Spirit Week, October 8-12 with activities that feature a different theme each day of the week. Monday: Twin Day, Tuesday: Sports team day - clothing representing your favorite sports team football, basketball, baseball etc., Wednesday: Pink Out in support of breast cancer awareness, Thursday: Throwback Thursday - any decade you choose, Friday: Tiger Nation - wear Black and Gold 

Homecoming Events
Friday, September 12
 
Community Homecoming Parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Fairfax School (corner of Lee and Scarborough Roads) and travel north on Lee Road to Tullamore Road. Community and school groups are invited to participate - please complete the application. Contact Martha Pugsley for more info. Parent volunteers are needed to help groups during the parade line up. No experience necessary, cool t-shirt provided! Contact Lisa Hunt or 216-320-2204 to volunteer. 

Lee Road Activity: The Rock the Block Family Watch Party, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. is on the public green space at Meadowbrook/Lee Road/Tullamore and will include games, jugglers, magician, a DJ and more. All are welcome. Several Lee Road restaurants and merchants will offer day and evening specials. For example...Mitchell's Fine Chocolates will be transformed into Honeydukes, the candy store in Harry Potter movies. Look for chocolate frogs, chocolate wands, Hogwart's House Crests, and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. 

The Heights High football game vs Warrensville, 7:00 p.m. in the stadium at the corner of Cedar and Lee. The Home entrance in on Lee Road, just north of Cedar Road. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are sold at the door until the middle of the third quarter. The halftime presentation will include the presentation of the homecoming court and the fabulous Heights High marching band. Tickets available online. Wear your black and gold! 

Saturday, October 13
Heights High Open House, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., self-guided tours. Enter through the east facing entrance, near the baseball field. Alumni, citizens and families are invited to the Open House. Maps will be provided and friendly student volunteer guides will be stationed throughout the building, club and sports teams will highlight their activities and the CTE program classrooms will be open. 

The student dance is sponsored by the Student Council and will take place in the cafeteria with DJ Shaq, 6:30 - 10:30 p.m. The evening’s theme is The Stars are Getting Closer. Attire is semi formal. Tickets are $20 per person. Seniors may bring a guest. Tickets will be sold after school until 3:35 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Tickets will not be sold at the door. School ID and ticket required for admission. There will be no admission after 8:30 p.m. Completed guest forms are required to purchase a guest ticket, also available in the 12th grade office and in the counseling office.

6:00 p.m.: Pre-Game Food/Drinks at The Bottle House Brewery, 2050 Lee Road 
7:00 p.m.: Football game at stadium, wear black and gold!
8:00 p.m.: After Party at the Social Room, 2261 Lee Road 
 
Saturday, October 13
10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Heights High Open House and Pop-Up Gear Store
11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Community and Alumni Cookout to Benefit Scholarships for Graduating Seniors, Heights High cafeteria and outdoor seating area, $5, to benefit scholarships for Heights High seniors.
