April 18, 2019 -- The annual Creative Heights Art Show is running now through May 15 at the Lee Road branch of the Heights Libraries. The exhibition is presented by the CH-UH Visual Art Department in partnership with the Heights Libraries, Rox Arts, Heights Schools Foundation and Reaching Heights.

The show presents more than 300 works of art done by students in CH-UH K-12 art classes. The pieces were selected by the district’s art teachers and are judged by a jury of community artists. Awards for first place, second place, and honorable mention are given for each school, and one award each for best in show will be given out for elementary, middle, and high school level art.

The visual art program, taught by certified art teachers, reflects that the arts are an essential component of an education that prepares children to learn and think creatively.

There will be a free public reception for the young artists and their friends and families on Monday, April 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. with an awards ceremony at 7. The works are displayed, grouped by school, throughout the library complex on both the east and west sides of Lee Road.

Library Hours:
Weekdays 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
