March 22, 2019 -- Gearity Professional Development School is eating good in the neighborhood.

The School Market program of the Cleveland Food Bank is expanding its reach in the CH-UH district, adding Gearity as their third site along with Oxford and Boulevard elementary schools.

Fresh fruits and vegetables and select pantry items are available to all members of the Gearity community, including students, parents, staff and neighbors as of Thursday, March 14. The Food Market will be set up in the gym during inclement weather and otherwise outside on the second Thursday of each month from 2 until 4 p.m.

The program has been wildly successful at both Oxford and Boulevard schools, improving students’ access to the healthiest foods and exposing them and their families to delicious recipes using produce they might not otherwise eat. This expansion highlights the district’s commitment to the health and well-being of the whole child and to establishing the schools as vital gathering places in their neighborhoods.
