Junior is Finalist in 'Stop the Hate' Essay Contest

Schulyer Radivoyevitch is a finalist in The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage 10th annual “Stop the Hate” essay contest.

Mar. 23, 2018 -- Schulyer Radivoyevitch, Heights High junior, is a finalist in The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage 10th annual “Stop the Hate” essay contest. 

He wrote about a bullying incident that he witnessed, how it affected him and how he reacted to the situation.

The winners will be announced at 4 p.m. April 29 at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

There are 25 finalists for the junior and senior category who will vye for $40,000 in scholarship, while students in grades six through 10 will compete for $400 awards.

“Stop the Hate is more than a scholarship or grant opportunity, it’s a movement,” said program chair Jordan Goldberg in a statement. “We are living in a time when speaking out and standing up for each other matters more than ever. This movement is about educating and empowering young people to use their voices for good.”
