Jan. 19, 2018 -- Working with a local artist, students in Noble Elementary's Peer to Peer program created an incredible stop animation video using photos of themselves and animated drawings.

 

Ryan Upp, a resident teaching artist at the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, worked with the children for the last four months. For this project, Upp exlained that first, the students took black and white photography of themselves in motion. The photos were printed out, numbered, and hand colored. They also added color to animated drawings. In total, more than 600 photos and drawings were scanned into the computer and converted into a film by playing the images at six frames per second.

 

"P2P was an amazing experience that I truly looked forward to every week," he said.

 

Peer to Peer pairs English Learner students with native English speakers who need extra help in literacy. The program is funded by a three-year 21st Century Grant.
