Heights High Course Selection Process

Heights High Program Planning Guide

 Jan 18, 2018 -- The course selection/scheduling process for the 2018-19 school year begins in January.
 
The Guidance Department will host meetings for families with more information about the process and timelines.
 
Families with students entering grades 9-12 next year are invited to these meetings:

9th Grade Scheduling Information Night for current 8th grade students: Wednesday, January 31, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
10th Grade Scheduling Information Night for current 9th grade families: Wednesday, January 31, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
11th Grade Scheduling Information Night for current 10th grade students: Thursday, February 1, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
12th Grade Scheduling Information Night for current 11th grade students: Thursday, February 1, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
 
Course selection/scheduling timeline:
January 16-19: Teachers submit course recommendations for each student.
January 22-29: Guidance Counselors visit English classes to present information and distribute the Scheduling Form. The form includes courses that are recommended by teachers and may include space to select electives.
 
Students take the form home for parents to approve or request changes.
 
The scheduling forms are due to English teacher within three days after receiving the form.
 
The Program Planning Guide is a great resource for families – it includes the 2018-19 courses, sample schedules, graduation requirements and other information.

February 5-14: Guidance Counselors meet individually with all students in the Mini-Auditorium to review course selection.
March 2: Course request process is completed.
March 9: Course lists are mailed to all families. 
Mid-August: Students schedules are posted on Infinite Campus.
