Future Connections Summer Job Opportunity
Future Connections logoJan. 4, 2017 -- The University Circle Future Connections program is an eight week paid summer learning experience focused on skill, career, and personal development. The program is for rising high school seniors.

The selection process includes an application and interview process – applications are due February 1.

In addition to a $1,000 stipend, participants gain confidence, maturity, and self-awareness, have opportunities to network with professionals, learn workplace skills and acquire knowledge that will assist them in their future academic and career pursuits.

Students are placed in organizations based on their career interests.

Some of the 2017 partners are: The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Cleveland Museum of Art, NASA Glenn Research Center, The Music Settlement; University Circle Police Department and the VA Medical Center.

Future Connections Applicant Requirements:
  • Currently a high school junior
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 (weighted or unweighted)
  • Be available for an interview on April 4 for the full 8 weeks of the program (Transportation from Heights High provided)
  • Have at least a 90% school attendance record 
Important Dates:

February 1: Applications due
April 4: Interview Day at Great Lakes Science Center – students will be transported to the interviews on a school bus and will be accompanied by Heights High Counselor Mary Anderson.
June 8-9: Life Skills Workshops at Dunham Tavern Museum in Cleveland
June 12 - July 7: Cultural Placements - Museums
July 10: Life Skills Workshop at Dunham Tavern Museum in Cleveland
July 11 - August 4: Business Placements
August 3: Culmination Ceremony
