Hooping with the Lady Tigers!
The Cleveland Heights Lady Tigers are led by Coach Karen Battle who enters the 2016-2017 season with a fresh perspective: to get better every day.
Coming off last year’s record of 5-16, the team is looking to regroup with a mix of new and returning players. With a wealth of upperclassmen, the Lady Tiger’s focus this year will be based on competing with solid fundamentals and teamwork.
Currently, the Lady Tigers are sitting 4-4 overall, and 2-1 in the LEL conference standings. Junior guard Arion Nichols is averaging 17 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Freshman standout Hayley Sims is averaging 12.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.
Other key players will be senior guards Alycia Carter, Chelsea Lewis and Tomasia Pierce and sophomores Jayden Weaver and Iyanna Williams.
The Lady Tigers are not only putting up great numbers on the court, but they are also getting it done in the classroom. With a team GPA of 3.41, the Lady Tigers seniors are getting acceptance letters based on their academics. Senior Tori Smith has been accepted to Central State University, Senior Julia Kinds to the University of Toledo, and Senior Diamond Hall to Notre Dame College and Cleveland State University.
