Heights Student to Serve on Attorney General's Panel
Lexxie Dolman
June 30, 2016 -- Rising Heights High senior Lexxie Dolman has been tapped for Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's Teen Ambassador Board.

The Teen Ambassador Board is a collection of Ohio high school students that will advise the Attorney General's office on issues relating to teens and work with their peers to develop solutions to those issues. According to the Attorney General's office, students will be placed into small groups, advised by an Assistant Attorney General.

Each group will work together to develop and implement a solution to one of the greatest issues facing Ohio’s young people. Students will present their work to Senior AGO Officials at the end of their term.

Lexxie said the particular issues she wishes to delve into are hate crimes, teen violence and gender equality.

"I have always been interested in the process of how laws are passed," Lexxie said. "I'm excited to have discussions with my peers about conflicts that teens face today, and to come up with resolutions to make life more manageable for the next generation."

Lexxie and her peers will also have the opportunity to attend AGO events around the state, visit the Columbus and regional offices, interact with Assistant Attorneys General, and meet the Attorney General and other elected officials.

Last year’s members met with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Ohio House Representatives Christina Hagan and Niraj Antani, Ohio Supreme Court Justices Judith L. French and Sharon Kennedy, Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien, senior administrative staff at the Attorney General’s Office, and dozens of AGO employees, from Assistant Attorneys General to BCI scientists.

The Teen Ambassador Board is open to high school juniors and seniors from public, private, charter, and online schools located in Ohio.
