Feb. 24, 2016 -- March activities at the Heights Libraries include the annual Poetry Slam, homework help and guidance on making healthy choices.

Activities For Teens:

Fierce First Ladies
This election year, we have our first former First Lady in the running for the office of President. During Women's History Month, we will celebrate by learning more about the women who have been in this unique role throughout history. We will focus on a different topic each week. The program takes place Monday-Friday, March 1-31, at 3:30 p.m. at the Noble Neighborhood branch, 2800 Noble Road.

17th Annual Poetry Slam
Are you a talented young poet? Come show off your skills and compete to win prizes! Free pizza will be served and workshops will be offered prior to the event itself. Please contact the library for further details at (216) 932-3600 or ask a librarian. This program is offered in conjunction with Lake Erie Ink and Cleveland Heights High School. Only those who wish to perform have to sign up. Register here. The program takes place Thursday, March 10, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Lee Road branch, 2345 Lee Road.

Teen Comic Book Club
Come by to talk about what’s new in comics and hang out with teens like you! We’ll also break out the Legos and have light snacks. See you there true believers! The program takes place Wednesday, March 16, at 3:30 p.m. at the Lee Road branch, 2345 Lee Road.

Homework Help and Reading Buddies
Need help with your homework or a class project? Want help with reading or a buddy to read a book with you? We can help, just drop on in! Grades K-5. The program takes place Thursdays in March, at 4:00 p.m. at the Lee Road branch, 2345 Lee Road.

Project Success!
Learn all about growing up and making everyday healthy choices for your mind, body and relationships. In partnership with Recovery Resources. The program takes place Mondays in March, at 4:30 p.m. at the Coventry branch, 1925 Coventry Road.

Up-Cyclers: T-shirt Headbands
Does your hair need some flair? We'll be using old t-shirts to create colorful headbands that'll brighten up any outfit. Open to grades 3-8. The program takes place Thursday, March 17, at 6:00 p.m. at the University Heights branch, 13866 Cedar Road.
