Rox Art Teacher Writing Children's Book
Feb. 14, 2017 -- Roxboro Middle School art teacher Jerome White is writing and illustrating a children's book called Red Tail Dreamer, inspired by the legendary Tuskegee Airmen.
The story is about a young boy in the 1940s who daydreams of becoming a pilot, hearing the roar of airplane engines above him day after day.
On his Kickstarter fundraising page, White explains that the idea for the book came to him after watching the film Red Tails several years ago. He adds that it is a tribute to his late grandfather, who served as a physical education instructor for the Tuskegee Airmen.
