Heights Middle School Supports Hurricane Victims

When our nation suffers a tragedy, the goodwill of our citizens shines. A caring mindset was evident at Heights Middle School (HMS) as our students rallied together to raise money desperately needed to fund natural disaster relief efforts. Over the course of two weeks, students were able to raise over $200 to support the victims of Hurricane Harvey.  Members of the Board of Education generously matched this donation. In the end, our collective efforts raised $400 to donate to Catholic Charities. The charity will use 100% of the proceeds to help those most impacted by providing clothes, food, water and shelter.  As an International Baccalaureate school, Heights Middle School (HMS) continually strives to think locally and act globally. Our students demonstrated the IB attributes of being principled and caring.   IB schools also focus on service and our students jumped right in to help a community hundreds of miles away.
