Senior Wins Art Award
Feb. 24, 2019 -- Senior Julia O’Donnell received an Honorable Mention award at the Beachwood Arts Council Ileen Kelner Juried High School Art Show at the February 10 opening reception and awards. She entered a necklace and earring set, Rain Drop, made out of copper, brass & nickel.
Ola Esmail and Miylikk Brown-Bey entered jewelry in the show and Maya Jacobs entered a charcoal portrait.
Students from 24 high schools entered pieces in the show. The judges include professional artists from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Case Western Reserve University and a local gallery.
The show is at the Beachwood Community Center, 25225 Fairmount Boulevard, Beachwood, 44122 and runs March 3. The gallery hours are: Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Nancy Rich is the Heights High jewelry teacher and Laura Skehan is the Studio Art teacher.
