March 13, 2019 -- Heights Middle School took first place at the Comet Winter Clash Academic Challenge on February 16 at Solon High School.

The two HMS teams, both consisting of students from Rox Mid and Monticello, went 5-0 in the morning round, which placed them both in a championship bracket of the top four teams in the afternoon. One HMS team took first place at 9-0 with a tournament-winning final game against a strong Solon team, and the other finished the day in fourth place with a 5-3 record.

Team members impressed coaches and parents with their ability to stay focused when hearing around 650 complicated questions throughout the day.
