Mad Science STEM Night

School-age kids can learn how to design and build cool contraptions! Join us as we harness our inner mad scientists and make science fun!

LAF: Library Afterschool Fun

Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. at the Lee Road Branch, 2345 Lee Road

March 7: Are you interested in Space? Join us to make moon rocks with basic kitchen ingredients.

March 14: 3.14 is Pi Day! Come find all the hidden pies in the children’s room and figure out the mathematical puzzle.

March 21: Come learn about turtles and their habitats. North Chagrin Nature Center will bring a turtle for us to learn about.

March 28: Upcycle a regular plastic bottle into a glowing galaxy!

After School Coding Club

Friday, March 30, 3:30 p.m. at the Noble Branch, 2800 Noble Road

Zine Machines

Tuesday, March 27, 5 p.m. at the Coventry branch, 1925 Coventry Road

Calling all Tweens! Join us as we express ourselves creatively by making comics, collages and sketches. Supplies will be available, but all are welcome to bring in personal photos, drawings and more to use in their individual zine creations. No experience necessary!

The Hate U Give Book Discussion

Tuesday, March 6, 4 p.m. at the Lee Road Branch, 2345 Lee Road

In The Hate U Give, the bestselling novel by Angie Thomas, 16-year old Starr, who is caught between her poor neighborhood and fancy school, witnesses her friend's fatal shooting at the hands of police. Join us for a book discussion and snacks. Ages 13-18.

Yoga

March 14 & 28, 4 p.m. at the Noble branch, 2800 Noble Road

Kanela Booker is a yoga instructor whose message focuses on personal empowerment and self-worth. All teens are welcome to try this mindful exercise. Please wear comfortable clothes, practice safely, and listen to your body.

Writing Workshop

Monday, March 19, 6 p.m. at the University Heights branch, 13866 Cedar Road

The first installment of the Writing Workshop series will focus on creating short fiction, including establishing setting, characters, and plots within a short space. The class will consist of instruction, peer feedback, and writing-related activities to help demystify the writing process.
