'We the Students' Essay Contest Topic Announced

Dec. 14, 2017 -- Sponsored by the Bill of Rights Institute, the We the Students essay contest prompt for this year is: "To what extent in the U.S. does the government (federal, state, local), have the duty to monitor internet content?"
 
Students in grades 8-12 are eligible to enter, and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Essays should be 500-800 words.
 
1st Place – $5,000 and a scholarship to the Bill of Rights 2018 Constitutional Academy in Washington, D.C.
Runners Up – Six prizes at $1,250 each
Honorable Mentions – Eight prizes at $500 each
 
Students must register online and have until Feb. 5, 2018 to submit their essays.
