Dec. 28, 2017 -- Girls in grades 4-8 are invited to register for a winter volleyball clinic at Heights Middle School on January 3 and 4.

The goal of the program is to introduce and enhance volleyball skills at a young age in order to equip girls with the necessary skills for school play, recreational play, and/or Junior Olympic play. Coaches are former high school, college, and Junior Olympic players who are looking to give back to the communities at large.

The program will offer skills development, competition mindset and healthy eating practices, along with the rules of the game. All participants will engage in light to moderate competition scrimmages.

Times are 9 a.m. to noon for grades 4-6, and noon to 3 p.m. for grades 7 and 8.

The cost is $50. Participants should bring knee pads if desired, tennis shoes, comfortable workout clothing, water and a healthy snack.
