Students Enjoy Lunch, Haircuts from Local Businesses
Jan. 5, 2018 -- The students in the Skills for Living course at Heights High were surprised with a family-style luncheon, haircuts and clothing before going on winter break, thanks to donations from local businesses and caring school staff.

"Our staff wanted to do something nice for our students before they went home for break. We reached out to some people we knew and asked if they would he interested in helping us send the kids home over break looking and feeling good," said teacher Karen Battle.
 
Pearl Flower Catering, Meryma'at Barber College, Villa, and Rich Payne provided everything for the day. Ms. Battle, Mr. Davis, Ms. Jackson, Mr. Thomas, and Mr. Glassen coordinated.
