Jan. 18, 2018 -- The Heights Coalition for Public Education will hold a public forum at Heights High School on Monday, Jan. 29, to hear three northeast Ohio school superintendents describe what they have done to challenge state policies that are detrimental to their students, their communities and public education.

The forum begins at 7:00 p.m. and will feature superintendents Dr. Talisa Dixon of CH-UH, Dr. Jim Lloyd of Olmsted Falls, and Walter Davis of Woodridge Local. They will discuss their responses to state mandates including charter schools and vouchers, high-stakes testing, graduation requirements and other concerns.

Free childcare is available by reservation. Call (216) 321-0020. Pre-forum tours of the newly-renovated school will leave from the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.

The event is the first in a three-part series on Democracy in Education to be held at Heights High. "The Vision for Public Education" will be held on February 12, and "Strategize with State Leaders" will take place on February 26.
