Things are in full swing in second grade.  Students and teachers have been adapting to the new English Language Arts groupings.  All groups are well into their routines and students are becoming more confident as they show growth each day.  Students are happy and enjoying the different mix of students in the morning and afternoon.

Canterbury is piloting a new math series titled Math Expressions.  The series incorporates a daily routine that involves numbers, money, and counting.  Math talk is also a large part of the program.  Students are becoming more fluent in these basic skills as they practice every day.  We have recently completed unit 2 which focused on the different strategies used to solve story problems.  Great work second graders!
