The Fairfax Fourth Graders have been feverishly involved with their science this trimester as they continue to learn about Matter and Energy.  Students discussed how particles are arranged in matter and how three states of matter are different.  In the measuring matter lesson students learned about mass and volume and how to measure them.  Students also continued applying their scientific methodologies with their participation of the density lab.  Students investigated the densities of some types of matter as they learned about measuring and comparing matter.  Fairfax Fourth Graders also learned about the properties of matter as they collaborated with a partner in class to compare three types of sugar in our comparing matter lab.  Students will continue to build on these concepts as well as learn about physical and chemical changes.
