Fairfax Fifth Graders explore culture...
January 23, 2012
Cleveland Heights, OH

The fifth grade students were current working collaboratively on a project that combined Social Studies, Science and Language Arts. Each team was given a Native American Nation to research. They described the ways in which the various tribes met their basic needs using the ecosystems that they lived in. Posters were then created using this information. The groups presented their findings to the class. Several sources were used by the students including books, texts, and the internet.
Students enjoyed sharing their posters. The project allowed them to learn from each other. They were able to compare the American Indian Nations to one another.
