The Year of the Dragon

Fairfax staff and students displayed outstanding teamwork in celebration of the Chinese New Year during our monthly PAWS Assembly. It was both an entertaining and interactive event! We had a very skillful Chinese yoyo player to jump-start the fun, his excellent performance wowed students from the beginning to end.
All students, teachers and staff learned the history of Chinese New Year as presented by our talented 4th grader’s through an original play. Never to be forgotten...students were also treated to an artistic interpretation of the dragon dance, by our 5th graders, welcoming the year of dragon.
Next on the program, our primary students sang the Chinese New Year song as well as performing the Chinese handkerchief dance. Lastly our first and third graders shared in a synchronized 12-animal zodiac chant.
All-in-all our first Chinese New Year celebration was an amazing success enjoyed by everyone!
