Gearity Science Fair

December 20, 2011
Cleveland Heights, OH

On Thursday, December 8, Gearity’s gymnasium was transformed into a full science fair showcase.  All students in grades 3, 4, and 5 participated with specific questions/hypotheses to answer, while individuals in grades K, 1, and 2 submitted entrees as well.  Classrooms in grades K, 1, and 2 also participated as a class and conducted their experiments as a whole group during their designated science time.

Mrs. Connor-Kuntz and Mrs. Karol submitted a grant to Case Western Reserve to support our science fair with materials and science students to assist our Gearity students with their project ideas.  We had many judges from our local Universities including John Carroll, Cleveland State, Notre Dame and Case Western Reserve.  We were so fortunate to have many judges to speak with our students to learn more about the scientific method process that our students experienced.  During the evening, students were awarded ribbons and prizes for their work with their families present for the ceremony.  It was a tremendous learning experience for all!
