Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 27, 2012
Cleveland Heights, OH

Every year the Cleveland Heights Recreation Center sponsors an arts contest to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Mr. Joseph Mendes, Mrs. Carolyn Lorber, Mrs. Beth Goldberg, and Mrs. Cheryl Walton took time during English Language Arts to have students express the influence Dr. King has had in their lives. Students write essays and poems, create posters and art projects to demonstrate Dr. King’s impact on society. We are thrilled to announce that four students were selected for their entries: Jules Borders, Andrew Moore, Jalen Boyd, and JaDrian Gantt. We were treated to a celebration at the Cleveland Heights Recreation Center on Wednesday, January 18th where our students’ work was shown. It was an evening of sharing projects, singing together and remembering Dr. King, Jr. Congratulations to all of our Gearity students for entering this city-wide contest.
