Athletics

At Roxboro Middle School we believe that participation in team sports is an important component of the social and emotional development of our students. The primary reason parents send their children to Roxboro Middle School is to receive high quality educational services.   Teaching and learning is our priority!  However, we also strive to develop well-rounded and productive citizens.   We recognize the importance of athletics in developing the whole child, and believe that being part of a team is beneficial to the development of our adolescent students as they gain self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and forge new friendships.

The young men and women enrolled at Roxboro MS have numerous opportunities to participate in our athletic program. The young men can compete in 7 sports and the young ladies can complete in 8 sports.  Each season offers several different opportunities for participating in team activities.   Below, you can find a list of the sports teams we sponsor and the season they compete in.

The school's campus features tennis courts and outdoor fields for football, baseball, softball, field hockey, track, and soccer.  We have two gymnasiums for our basketball, volleyball, and wrestling programs to use for practice and competitions.   The Roxboro Community is extremely proud of their student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field.  Please come join our students, staff and parents as they cheer on our student athletes this year.
