Equity In CH-UH

Guiding Statements

Mission: The Equity Task Force seeks to create educational equity to raise achievement for all students, especially for students of color, by building awareness and celebrating culture and differences, and providing differentiated resources, because responsibility for disparity rests with adults, not children.

Vision: CH-UH is a responsive, reflective, and honest community which embraces cultural differences to prepare all students for global success.  Race must cease to be a predictor of student achievement.

National School Boards Association's Definition of Educational Equity: "We affirm in our actions that each student can, will, and shall learn. We recognize that based on factors including but not limited to disability, race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status, students are deprived of equitable educational opportunities. Educational equity is the intentional allocation of resources, instruction, and opportunities according to need, requiring that discriminatory practices, prejudices, and beliefs be identified and eradicated."

Task Force Members

The CH-UH Educational Equity Champions initiative was developed to expand support for District staff, the Strategic Plan, and Educational Equity Policy Goals. By expanding opportunities, supporting systemic transformation, and integrating the District’s policy, this program builds individual agency in leading social justice initiatives and systemic change.
