LPDC License Renewal

The CH-UH Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) was created to meet the requirements of ORC 3319.22 through Article 37.00, Professional Development Committee, of the Contract between the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education and the Cleveland Heights Teachers Union, Local 795 American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO.

Purpose
The purpose of the Local Professional Development Committee is to oversee and review professional development plans for credential renewal or transition, and to oversee the requirements for each.

Mission
The mission of the Local Professional Development Committee is to facilitate the implementation of the Cleveland Heights–University Heights City School District’s vision—The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools educate students by embracing diversity, ensuring equitable experiences and fostering outstanding teaching and learning to develop academically prepared critical thinkers who contribute positively and compete successfully in the world.

Professional development plays a critical role in providing teachers the necessary tools to meet the multi-faceted needs of today’s youth. Teachers need to be empowered to construct knowledge that benefits their own professional growth and that ultimately impacts the increased achievement of our students.
