The Information Technology Department helps prepare students for their future - a world of digital technology, global information, and instant communication.
Increasing access to technology is essential for that future, and Chromebooks help students learn at their full potential and prepare them to be competent in using online tools for college and the workplace.
In CH-UH, Chromebooks are issued for take-home use to students in grades 3 through 12. Students in grades preK through 2 use touchscreen Chromebooks that are stored in carts in our classrooms.

SB29 INFORMATION
Ohio Senate Bill 29 (SB29) is designed to protect the privacy of student data while ensuring transparency and accountability in how that data is monitored, accessed and used. The bill was signed by Governor DeWine on July 24, 2024, and becomes effective on October 24, 2024. In compliance with SB29, parents and guardians will be notified within 72 hours if a school-issued device or account is accessed, including a description of the events which led the District to access the student’s data. Approved Software Applications
Protecting student data privacy is a key component of the District’s technology strategy. In partnership with the Department of Teaching and Learning, software requests go through a thorough approval process. This process evaluates factors such as technology compatibility, data privacy concerns, alignment with educational goals, and potential duplication of existing software.
