CHHS Drama Club Presents "As You Like It" April 16-18

The Heights High School Drama Club will present the stage adaptation of William Shakespeare's "As You Like It" for their annual spring play on April 16, 17, and 18 at 7:00 p.m. and April 18 at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the high school. The play features seniors Abs Burkle, Violet Carter, Tulie Gosselin, Nora Lubbers, Carl Nicosia, Emma Preston, Kendall Thompson, and Clara Walker.

"'As You Like It' is a pastoral romantic comedy that contrasts the schemes and danger of the worldly court with the healing joy and freedom of nature," says director David Jurns.

Set in the forest of Arden, the action follows the exiled princess Rosalind (currently in hiding and in disguise as a young man named Ganymede), her beloved cousin Celia (in hiding with her under the assumed name of Aliena), and her extremely circuitous path to love with the (also exiled) Orlando. The fool Touchstone and the melancholy philosopher Jacques provide both exposition and comic relief, and a host of supporting characters try to navigate their own chances at love and happiness.
