Gearity Students to Graduate at JCU

Gearity Students to Graduate at JCU

Students in 3rd-5th grade at Gearity Professional Development School will step into the future on Thursday, November 20 and leap from elementary school students to college graduates during a commencement ceremony at John Carroll University (Kulas Auditorium) at 6:30 p.m.

“Students in our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class will get to experience the joy of graduating college over ten years in advance,” said Gearity Professional Development School Principal, Katrina Hicks.  “We hope this experience contributes to the students’ sense of worth, demonstrates the significance of setting high expectations, and encourages them to pursue their goals.”

Dressed in their caps and gown, the students in grades 3-5 will represent the following colleges and class year:

  • 3rd graders – honorary graduates, class of 2027 – John Carroll University
  • 4th graders – honorary graduates, class of 2026 – Oberlin College and Conservatory
  • 5th graders – honorary graduates, class of 2025 – The Ohio State University

Students will give their speeches as graduates of their respective colleges. They will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas from CH-UH Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon and take a picture with her.

The Gearity graduation at John Carroll University is an opportunity to showcase the importance of setting high expectations for our students and to increase the awareness of our partnership between Gearity Professional Development School and JCU.
