District Collecting Families' Instructional Model Choices Through July 24

July 9, 2020

Dear CH-UH Families,

As I outlined in my message yesterday, we are now beginning the process of collecting our families’ preferences for instructional models for their children in the 2020-2021 school year. This website offers details on each of the four models. Please use this Google Form to let us know your choice for each of your students. The form will be open through July 24. Families who do not make a selection for their student in grades 6-12 by July 24 will automatically be placed in Blended Learning. The default selection for students in grades K-5 will be daily in-school instruction, five days days a week. We will reach out directly to families who we have not heard from beginning Monday, July 20.

At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, my Cabinet members and I presented the draft plan for the reopening of our schools in the 2020-2021 school year. If you were unable to view the presentation, the video is available on our YouTube page. The slideshow presentation can be found here. If, after reviewing the draft plans, you would like to offer your thoughts, concerns, or questions, please use this Google Form. Your feedback will help us recognize areas of our plan that may need more attention and/or clarity.

Join me for a Facebook Live event on Tuesday, July 14 at 7 p.m. Several of my colleagues and I will be available to address concerns. We understand that you may still have questions, and we want to provide you with all the clarity and reassurance that we can. I look forward to connecting with you then.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Liz Kirby
