Junior Selected for PBS Summer Academy
June 5, 2020 -- Heights High junior Hannah Bradley has been selected for the PBS Student Reporting Lab summer academy. Hannah is part of the Digital Video Production (DVP) Career and Technical Education program at Heights High. She is one of 30 students selected for the national program.
Cynthia Booker is the DVP teacher and her program is a part of the PBS Student Reporting Labs that builds the next generation of informed media creators and consumers.
The Student Reporting Lab originally was going to be on the Arizona State University campus this summer but is now a virtual academy, April 21 - June 26.
Applicants submitted a thorough application, explaining why they wanted to be a part of the academy.
"I'm so excited to be one of 30 kids to participate in the camp. I've already had the chance to do some projects through PBS Student Reporting Labs and now I'll get to collaborate with other students around the country. I'm so grateful to my teacher Mrs. Booker for teaching me a lot about video production and also believing in my abilities," said Hannah.
