May 22, 2020 -- CH-UH Math Instructional Specialist Joyce Bukovac was featured in the Statistics in Schools monthly newsletter in its Ambassador Spotlight section.

 

Ms. Bukovac is leading 2020 Census education efforts in the District, providing math teachers with resources and guidance in bringing the Census to the classroom. She is part of a planning team that declared May 22 as CH-UH Census Day, and she is also a Statistics in Schools Ambassador.

 

Statistics in Schools is part of the U.S. Census Bureau. Its mission is to bring school subjects to life using real-world Census Bureau statistics to create materials for use year after year at all grade levels.

Ambassador Spotlight: Joyce Bukovac
Since being accepted into the SIS Ambassador Program, Joyce Bukovac has been making great strides to ensure that her community is counted in 2020. Joyce, a math instructional specialist in Ohio’s Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, has done a great job of tailoring SIS materials to her audience. She has featured SIS lessons in her newsletters, hosted professional growth sessions for her fellow educators, and has created Census Kahoots, a gamebased educational platform.
